A lot of talent for one community
Do the names of Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix, or Bruce Lee ring a bell? They all boast about their time in the Seattle Central District and how it changed their lives for the better. I am sure I missed hundreds but you get the picture. There is a lot of talent coming from the Central District. When they put on a parade of talent and community pride, it is something worth seeing.
The Seattle Central Area Community Festival starts out with an interactive parade that is fun. Don't be surprised if these future superstars pull you out of the crowd to dance or put on a sideline show just for you. They are good and they like interaction with the community. After the parade there are booths of talented artists and great food vendors. Their art is just as expressive as their song and dance. If you are around at night, don't forget to take the family or date to the carnival.
